Circles instead of categories
You divide your people into three circles: inner, middle, and outer. The closer the circle, the more frequent the contact. Each circle has a default rhythm (say every two weeks, every four weeks, every three months) that you can adjust freely, per circle or for individual people.
You don’t have to keep it all in your head
Sodalis works out when the next contact is due and shows you on the overview who’s ready and whose birthday is in the next few days. No vague “I should really get in touch again”, you simply see it.
Conversation notes
After a meeting or call, you jot down in two sentences what you talked about. Next time you remember where you left off, and the rhythm starts over.
Who knows whom
In the network view you see your circle as an orbit: you in the center, your people on rings by closeness. Lines show who knows whom; partnerships and family are highlighted separately. You can zoom in, pan, and filter by topic.
Tags
Assign keywords like “university”, “sports”, or “Berlin” and see who belongs together by topic.
From your contacts
Pull friends straight from your address book, with photo and birthday. Sodalis creates its own copy; your Contacts app stays untouched.

Sodalis is a real app for Mac, iPhone, and iPad, not a repackaged browser. On the Mac you work with a sidebar and a large overview; on the go you have the same data in your hand.
Sync & Privacy
Data about your friendships is some of the most personal there is. That’s why Sodalis has no third-party server: everything is stored locally on your device and synced between your devices through your private iCloud database (CloudKit). No one but you sees your contacts, notes, and connections, not even me as the developer.
If you want to back up or take your data with you, you can export it as a file at any time and import it again the same way.

Where is my data stored?
Locally on your device and in your private iCloud database. There is no third-party server.
Are my contacts uploaded anywhere?
No. Sodalis reads your address book only when you add someone, and creates its own copy. Nothing is sent to me or to third parties.
Can I get my data back out?
Yes, you can export a full backup as a file at any time and import it again.
Do my friends see that I keep them in an app?
No. Sodalis is just for you. It doesn’t send or post anything.
Do I need an Apple device for everything?
One device is enough. If you have several, iCloud keeps them in sync automatically.
