Line Chart

Line charts are ideal for visualizing trends over time. They consist of a series of data points connected by straight lines. Typically, time is placed on the x-axis and the variable of interest on the y-axis. This type of chart is especially effective in showing changes, direction, and volatility over continuous intervals.

A common application of line charts is to track monthly revenue, stock prices, website traffic, or temperature changes. For example, a digital marketing team might use a line chart to monitor daily website visits over a 6-month period. Peaks and troughs in the line can indicate campaign success or the impact of external factors. Additionally, multiple lines can be plotted to compare different groups or categories, such as sales across multiple regions.
