Tom Alby began experimenting with electronic sounds and digital technologies during his brief career as a professional musician. In 1994, as the World Wide Web experienced its breakthrough, he shifted his passion from music to the digital world of the internet. To fund his studies, he created websites and developed one of the first search engines. In the following years, the digital expert, described as a “data freak” by brand eins, drove innovation at companies like Google, Bertelsmann, and BBDO. In November 2018, he was appointed Chief Digital Transformation Officer at Allianz Trade (then known as Euler Hermes).
Alongside earning his doctorate from Humboldt University of Berlin, he has authored several books on technology topics and serves as a lecturer in data science, statistics, and digital analytics at various universities. Tom Alby is also a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) by the Project Management Institute and a graduate of the PowerMBA program. Currently, he focuses on the intersection of data analysis and new technologies, sharing his insights as a speaker at professional conferences.
